Many application needs can be met with less expensive and more flexible borosilicate glass fiber assemblies. This fiber transmits well in the visible from 380-2000 nm.
Borosilicate glass is typically small in diameter (< 100μ), with a thin cladding and no buffer. The high core to cladding ratio makes the fiber perfect for tight packing in bundles, as seen below. It also boasts a high bend radius, which is perfect for small spaces.
