The Laserspec-3000 is an ideal instrument for teaching laboratories and applications involving routine analysis. It's compact bench-top design includes all hardware and software, measurement accessories, fiber optic sampling probe (with internal software controlled safety shutter), sample compartment, software and laptop computer.
While the Laserspec-3000 offers an entry-level combination of price and performance, the Laserspec-3000H delivers the highest performance in terms of sensitivity and resolution.
Introduction
The Laserspec-3000 has been designed as a compact Raman analyser capable of a wide range of industrial, medical and research applications. It can be used as a quality control tool for product screening, as a research instrument or as a very easy to use high performance Raman spectrometer. Samples can be both solid or liquid and require no sample preparation for a fast, accurate analysis to be made.
In industry there are many applications requiring the screening of unknown samples that have already been packed in plastic or other containers. Laserspec 3000 can often see through this packaging and analyse the product inside. Water based samples or gels are easy samples to analyse, simply place the small light weight probe close to the product of interest and in just a few seconds analysis is complete. It’s as simple as that. Your Laserspec-3000 is also the perfect instrument for forensic use, drug screening, white powder, mineralogy, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals and much more.
More versatile than an FT-IR
Laserspec-3000 is far more versatile than an FTIR in that water based samples can be handled with ease. Plus of course with no sample preparation analytical time is a fraction of that for the FTIR. There are no special skills required and built in intelligent software takes care of practically all user requirements. Each system comes with a built in ability to create your own data libraries that can recognize both your samples and others. It is also possible to build a data base by down loading product spectral data directly into the instrument memory.
Choice of laser wavelength
What is the best laser wavelength for my application? We offer a choice of 3 standard wavelengths each having its own advantages
532 nm is the laser of choice when your samples have low backgrounds, when the highest resolution is required and when the application demands the widest spectral range ( Raman Shift )
785 nm is the preferred wavelength when samples have a significantly higher background or fluoresce but when good resolution and sensitivity is required 1064nm is used when samples have very high backgrounds and very high fluorescence. At this wavelength fluorescence is a thing of the past. Even used dirty oil can be analyzed with ease as well as many natural products including food and beverages, wine, highly colored materials, organics etc
1064 nm is used when samples have very high backgrounds and very high fluorescence. At this wavelength fluorescence is a thing of the past. Even used dirty oil can be analyzed with ease as well as many natural products including food and beverages, wine, highly colored materials, organics etc.
